The Cerio Institute is the private and educational practice of Donna C. Cerio. "I am dedicated to providing a therapeutic and educational resource for the local and global community. Delivering health care to survivors of sexual trauma, those suffering from chronic emotional, mental and/or physical pain, and assisting clients in navigating surgical experiences are my specialties."
My mission has three parts:
- To provide a platform on which people can heal, transform and evolve, reaching their fullest capacity as human beings
- To be instrumental in the partnership of conventional and alternative health care
- To alleviate as much human suffering as possible by raising the awareness and training of those who deliver health care to all clientel
The Cerio Institute, formerly Holistic Health Services, started in 1979. Currently, my private practice serves individuals who are healing from sexual trauma, chronic long term illness and/or pain, and clients who are facing a life changing medical procedure such as surgery. My practice is located in Soquel, California (Santa Cruz County).
My educational practice offers training to Health Care Professionals who are working with the above mentioned client populations.
I am published in a variety of bodywork publications such as New Foundations in Bodywork Therapy, Massage Magazine, Florida AMTA Journal, and Zero Balancing® Newsletters in the United States and UK. In addition to these articles, I have also published two manuals for the bodywork profession.

Donna C. Cerio's 25+ years as a Holistic Health Professional include health care and education in private practice, academic and medical settings. She has developed and refined Intentional TouchTM, a body of work that invites clients to participate in their own health care in a meaningful and effective way. Intentional TouchTM addresses the needs of people recovering from sexual abuse and other traumatic experiences, suffering from serious illness, and those who deal with chronic emotional, physical and or mental pain. |

Ezra Cerio has been working with computers extensively for over 15 years. He has experience in programming, computer repair and sales, technical consulting, format design for P.R. materials, and web design. Jenny Silber Butah has been a licensed Marriage, Family and Child Therapist in the state of California since 1990. Currently her specialties include: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; Depression/Anxiety; and living with Chronic Illness. She has a private practice in Soquel, California where she works with individuals, couples and families. She has been an adjunct faculty member at John F. Kennedy University in Campbell, California for 6 years and was a supervisor of interns at JFK University Community Counseling Center in Sunnyvale. Jenny is the co-founder and co-facilitator of Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning Psychotherapy in Soquel, California. Her background in Alternative Health Care (former Certified Massage and Acupressure Practitioner and Practitioner of Process Oriented Psychology) makes her work for The Cerio Institute a profound contribution to our intention to build partnership between Alternative and Conventional Health Care. |

Dennis A. Edds graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1973 with a Masters degree in History. From early on in his life, Dennis has had a special interest in language, languaging, and a strong concern with the written word. It is this very interest in clear expression that makes his editing and writing skills highly valuable to us. He has been a professional computer programmer for 20 years, working in the software development industry. He excels in organizational and logical thinking, which is an essential component needed in all our project development. We appreciate his contributions to The Cerio Institute. |
