Donna C. Cerio’s 21 years as an Alternative Health Care Professional include personal and organizational development, health care and stress management in private practice, academic and medical settings, and the public arena. Founder and Director of The Cerio Institute, formerly Holistic Health Services, she has developed and refined Intentional Touch™, a body of work that invites clients to participate in their own health care in a meaningful and effective way. Intentional Touch™ addresses the needs of people recovering from traumatic experiences, suffering from serious illness, and those who deal with chronic emotional, physical and or mental pain.

As 20-year Founding Director of the Holistic Health Program at the University of

California at Santa Cruz, she trained and certified thousands of staff, students and instructors. She is presently on staff at the University as a Master Instructor.

She is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, Zero Balancing Association and International Association of Health Practitioners. Other certifications include:

She is the author of My Body, My Energy, My Self, a book/cassette, which begins a holistic exploration of “Who am I” for very young children and people in recovery from early childhood trauma. She is also the author of Basic Functional Anatomy for the Student Body Technique, a basic Anatomy curriculum for students of alternative health care techniques.

Currently Donna is the Director and Principal Provider at The Cerio Institute in Santa Cruz County. The Cerio Institute is an organization dedicated to providing a therapeutic and educational resource for the local and global community. Donna delivers educational seminars and on site services locally and across the nation.
