If you are a holistic health professional interested in, or currently working with clients who are suffering from the effects of sexual abuse, or clients who are traumatized by medical procedures, Intentional TouchTM may be the right training for you. If you would like to help your clients heal themselves in a safe and effective way and customize your current skills to serve your clients highest spiritual growth, while helping them face serious health concerns, this training is a must.
In the Intentional TouchTM training you learn ways to initiate, strengthen, and reinforce your clients own ability to heal. You acquire communication and verbal processing skills as well as hands-on protocols that give your clients an experience of safety and security in their bodies and in the world. You master the ability to design your sessions in a way that prevents clients who are suffering from the effects of traumatic experiences from inadvertently becoming retraumatized. You become well versed in recognizing common landmines and signals of distress and ways that you can address them. Furthermore, you gain skills in cultivating growth, courage, and care for yourself in an ongoing way so that you can face the challenges of working with this client population. This level of self care gives you the strength and insight to perservere through the sometimes rigarous territory presented.
While originally designed for work with survivors of sexual abuse, Intentional TouchTM is in fact an encompasing integrated model of practice that guides a practitioner in how to enhance confidence, trust and safety in the interaction between a health care provider and a health care recipient, so that a client's own capacity for self healing can be realized. This in turn enhances the benefits of all healing modalities. There have been several studies that suggest that confidence, trust, and safety result in biological changes that create significant a influence on the healing process.
As an Intentional TouchTM practitioner, you develope a structure of practice that forms partnerships with practitioners from other medical disciplines. You are mentored in how to form alliances with mental health professionals, physicians, and professionals from other disciplines for the benefit of your client. This enables you to use your skills to help your client navigate conventional health care such as medical exams, surgery and dental care. You assist your client in cultivating a state of mind that supports them in receiving conventional health care with strength and confidence.
