Five Element Acupressure

Intentional Touch™

ACUPRESSURE is a form of energy medicine that uses finger pressure to stimulate and free energy within the body. Acupressure is based on the Eastern medical model acknowledging the concept of "chi" or "life force" which flows through the body along pathways called meridians. On these meridians are points where the chi can be influenced. When pressure is applied to these points specific symptoms are relieved and the flow of chi is stimulated.

Five Element Theory reinforces the Intentional Touch™ principles that we are working with. Originating in China 5000 years ago, Five Element Theory is an approach to life, health and illness that allows for and promotes consideration of the influence each part of the human being plays in the condition of each other part. Instead of segmenting body, mind, emotion and spirit, it allows for the integral connection of each to the others to be valued and recognized.

Five Element Acupressure is a way of working holistically, using the Eastern medical model. The effect is at the causal level, while still relieving symptoms. For example, if you have Asthma, we will address all accompanying symptoms such as wheezing as well as secondary factors such as mental or physical fatigue, hormonal balance, and or emotional situations, as well as the condition of your respiratory system and all supporting structures. This way of working necessitates a series of sessions and has long lasting sustainable results.
