Delivering Health Care to Survivors of Sexual Abuse

34 CE Hours

Course Description

The statistics on sexual abuse are staggering. They lead us to the conclusion that a significant number of people are suffering from the injuries and trauma that sexual abuse causes. Therefore there is a strong likelihood that you will encounter survivors of sexual abuse in your bodywork practice.

This 34-hour class is for practicing bodywork professionals who are interested in how to deliver bodywork to survivors of sexual abuse.

In the class students receive pertinent information and essential tools needed to effectively contribute to the healing of the original wounding from sexual abuse. Through hands-on exercises, the student learns to apply the principals and tools from the course to their existing practice.

Class includes theory, case study and supervised hands-on practice.

Intentional Touch establishes a framework for you to tailor your approach to accommodate the special needs of these populations. Intentional Touch is an advanced modality that significantly enhances your practice.

In Phase I training you acquire an understanding and working knowledge of:

  • The survivor of sexual abuse as a client
  • Creating safety in the "Therapeutic Relationship"
  • Trauma Lifting Protocol - energy technique
  • Energy treatment for chronic pain
  • The intelligent partnership of alternative and conventional medicine
  • Foundation building
  • Designing a series of sessions to achieve cumulative successful results
